Opening of Sainik School in Pithoragarh

(a) the details of the locations in the country where Sainik Schools have been established since the British period, till date;

(b) whether Government would consider opening such a Sainik School in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand which has a huge population of defence personnel; and

(c) if so, by when?

(a) At present, there are 24 Sainik Schools in the country. The details and location of the 24 Sainik Schools in the country is enclosed at Annexure-‘A’.

(b) & (c): One Sainik School at Ghorakhal in Nainital, Uttarakhand is already functioning. At present, no proposal is under consideration for opening of another Sainik School in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand.
